And she continues to prove it via her blog, Christina’s SCoop.

Christina started taking horseback riding lessons at the young age of four, and soon started competing successfully in the world of hunter-jumpers. She was soon spending her weekends at horse shows. When her father competed in the SoCal circuit, she spent her teenage summers working for him in Del Mar.

She entered USC to take up journalism and entertainment communications at the Annenberg School for Communications, and as a senior worked for HRTV as a weekend reporter and features producer. It was here that TVG spotted and recruited her as a full-time reporter.

Christina Olivares currently shares her exceptional inside knowledge with horse racing fans through TVG’s shows and Christina’s SCoop, a blog dedicated to her forays into such events as the Breeders Cup and the Hollywood Turf Festival. Learn more about this amazing woman at TVG.com.

She started out taking horseback riding lessons when she was just four years old and got her first pony when she was six. She began competing in horse shows back in the Golden Age of horseback riding. She got into riding through her dad, Frank, who competed in the Southern California circuit. Christina spent her summers as a teenager working for him at Del Mar.

She was discovered for TV in her senior year of college when she started working for HRTV as a weekend reporter and features producer. At the time she was studying journalism and entertainment communications at the Annenberg School for Communications. After college, she was taken in as a full time reporter for HRTV before she decided to make the move to TVG.

Her passion for journalism and background in the horseback riding ‘biz really makes her shine on screen.  Christina Olivares was born to report on horse racing.
